Intermediate Architectural Interior Designer (4+ Years of Experience Required)


JOB SUMMARY

The Intermediate Interior Architectural Designer evaluates, selects, and performs in a self-directed manner in all
aspects of the interior design process, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design
development, contract documents, renderings and construction administration activities within an established budget,
schedule, site and programmatic requirements.


EDUCATION

o Bachelor/ Master’s Degree from a NAAB accredited Architecture program


EXPERIENCE

o Minimum 4+ years of experience in a broad range of hospitality and/or residential interior architectural design

o Current registration with a state architectural licensing board strongly preferred

o Experience with LEED® projects, LEED® AP certification preferred

o Knowledge of construction materials, Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) specifications/ providers,
particularly as applicable to the hospitality industry


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Independently performs assignments following instructions given by Senior Designers/ Associates

o Prepares preliminary design concepts and alternatives for review by senior management

o Under minimal supervision and guidelines, finds solutions to design and technical challenges within large projects

o Develops design solutions in a broader context through collaborative efforts involving outside consultants

o Displays confidence in developing preliminary client interaction and seeks to develop industry relationships

o Implements design into CAD format (AutoCAD) and presentation materials

o Prepares drawings and documentation for schematic design, design development and construction
documents, and FF&E specification phases

DESIGN

o Possesses a strong understanding of design principles and theory

o Skillful in all areas of interior design, interior architecture and furniture design

o Displays creative interior design skills including concept development hand sketching, and selection
of colors, materials, finishes and furniture

o Experienced in all phases and aspects of the design process including predesign, design documentation,

o FF&E specifications, construction administration and procurement


TECHNICAL

o Knowledge of building codes, standards and building systems and structures

o Experienced in interior architectural development, construction detailing, and finish selection

o Produces AutoCAD and manually generated design drawings including elevations, sections and details

o Performs shop drawings and submittals reviews at the direction of the senior management

o Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook

o Knowledge of SketchUp and Revit is desirable
